Synthesis and Fe3+ Detection Property of A Novel Pyridine-Calix[4]arene Fluorescent Probe |

Abstract A novel upper-rim functionalized pyridine-calix[4]arene flourescence probe for highly selective detection of Fe3+ was synthesized, and its structure was characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HR-MS, respectively. The results of ion detection experiments showed that the maximum absorption peak of the pyridine-calix[4]arene probe appeared at 295 nm and displayed a strong fluorescence emission band at 371 nm. Compared with other metal ions, the probe exhibits fluorescent quenching response to Fe3+ with high selectivity and strong anti-interference ability. The binding property of the probe with Fe3+ was studied by a combination of fluorescence titration and Job's plot, and the results indicated that a 2:1 coordination complex was formed by the probe with Fe3+, the association constant was 3.26×107 M-1, and the detection limit was 7.9×10-7 M.
